Capri Films was founded by veteran producer Gabriella Martinelli (Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet, David Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers, M Butterfly and Naked Lunch, and Clive Barker’s Night Breed) to create, develop and produce feature film, and television projects from conception to delivery.

Since its inception in 2001, Capri has specialized in international treaty co-productions such as Between Strangers, a Canada-Italy co-production directed by Edoardo Ponti, starring Sophia Loren, Pete Postlethwaite, Malcolm McDowell, Deborah Kara Unger and Mira Sorvino, and Terry Gilliam’s surrealistic feature Tideland, a Canada-UK co-production reuniting with Naked Lunch co-producer Jeremy Thomas and The Recorded Picture Company, starring Jeff Bridges and Jennifer Tilly.
